Try resetting your Dimplex heater

There may not be anything wrong with your storage heater after all. But if it has been unused for a prolonged period of time it may need to be reset before being used again.

Dimplex Storage heater common problems

The room where your Dimplex heater is located is too hot

If your Dimplex storage heater is too hot despite being set on the lowest input, it is possible the charge regulator is out of order meaning the thermal link may end up melting.
This could also be caused by an accumulation of dust over time within the casing of the heater which would limit air flow making the heater overheat.
Alternatively the thermostat may no longer do its job
In any case it is important to contact one of our qualified electrician as fast as you can to fix the problem

The room where your Dimplex heater is located is too cold

In the majority of cases, if the heater in your room is only lukewarm it is likely due to a faulty thermostat or element.

In some cases, your heater may be too close to another source of heat such as a kitchen oven or else. This could affect the performance of the heater.

It is also possible the size of the heater is not appropriate to the size of the room you are trying to heat in which case you should consider replacing it to a bigger model.

There isn’t any heat coming out of your Dimplex storage heater

There are a lot of reasons why this may have happened. The most common one would be down to the thermostat not functioning properly. Another common issue is that the element that produces heat has completely failed. Alternatively, the energy power supply to which the heater is connected might have been affected so make sure you follow the troubleshooting steps explained earlier.
Finally, your heater might simply be a little too old and reached the end of its life. Typical storage heaters will last between 6 to 8 years after which they need to be replaced.
